The format for The Wednesday Game has changed, starting in 2012. The monthly Wednesday Game is no more, and is replaced by The Post Mortem. It's a less comprehensive offering, and takes the form of a two-page hand-out which analyzes the most interesting hands of the day. But instead of just once a month, The Post Mortem will be available on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, every week! That's 9 or 10 special games a month, instead of just the one. The Post Mortem is also published online, integrating it with links to the extensive Wednesday Game Archives and Convention Library.
There is no charge for The Post Mortem service, and you can participate in any or all of them. Eventually, we'll end up with three mailing lists, one for each of the three days, so that you won't be bothered with emails for games in which you are not participating. Bear with us until we are up to speed on this.
For each of The Post Mortem games, we send out the game materials, a few days ahead of time: - Deal Slips … that’s a PDF file which must be printed prior to manual preparation of the boards. - A DUP and a BRI … files used by those blessed with a dealing machine. - Hand Records … a PDF file. - The Post Mortem … there are two versions from which to choose, one in Word (with some color), the other a black & white PDF.
Remember, the primary service to the players is the two-sided Post Mortem sheet, so if you provide that after the game then their going on-line to www.wednesdaygame.com is not essential. Having said that, a web version of each Post Mortem is posted on the site, augmented with the links mentioned earlier. Alas, if we are providing that service to the players, we need to protect it with a password, which is only active during the day that the set is “live”, just as The Wednesday Game used to operate. As before, that password is printed on the Hand Records.
